Projects for my Preschooler

Lu making pumpkin bread: She loves baking and being moms helper.

Lulu's car, made out of a box from Costco:  Lulu had fun gluing construction paper, coloring and stamping her car. She later took her stuffed animals for a ride.

Lulu's ginger bread house: Lulu saw a picture of a ginger bread house in a magazine and asked to make one.  I bought a kit at World Market for under $10, it was worth it.  We worked on the house for about and hour or two. I was surprised how long I had her attention.  Then again when it comes to candy shes always alert. lol

My Lulu is a busy little bee! I have been trying to create a project for her when we have down time.  I want her to be involved in something constructive and avoid watching cartoons as much as possible, when we are hanging out at the house.  I also want to minimize the amount of messes we make in the house.  Having a designated project has helped make the clean up so much easier.  So far its been a huge success and I'm enjoying the time we spend together. Daddy even helps out with our projects it so much fun!

Stanley Kubrick at the LACMA

I made a trip to the LACMA to view the Stanley Kubrick exhibit.  It was a great exhibit to see. I wasn't familiar with him as director, but when I entered the exhibit I realized he was the creator of some really great films.

The exhibit consisted of short clips from his films, props, costumes and scripts.  It was great to see the process he went through to create his films and the timelines he created. I remember seeing a four month timeline for one film.  That was so incredible to me his films are so detailed to create one in four months is impressive.

I can't wait to take another trip to the LACMA!

Painting On A Rainy Day!

The weather has been so up and down lately. Last week we had beach days and this week we are staying in.  I had a painting project for Lulu and her best friend Gigi. The girls really enjoyed painting and placing stickers on their paintings. They painted for about 15-20 min and then moved on to a new task, jumping on the bed. lol

Liberty London Makes Me Happy!

Here are my favorite picks from the JCrew Liberty line! I absolutely love Liberty London prints, they make me feel super happy and the vision of sunny days come to mind. When Target had its Liberty London line I went nuts as you can see from the pics below! I have to get something from the JCrew line. I'm thinking the rash guard will look super cute on me and the floral clutch and matching shoes will be perfect, for the many weddings I will be attending this summer!

Liberty London in my closet!

Liberty London on my bed! Loooove it!

Mommy I want a Castle!

Wow my little Lulu is becoming a little shopper! I was very surprised today, when my two year old asked me to tear out a page from a magazine with an advertisement for a Disney princess doll house.  She then asked me to take her to the store to buy the doll house/castle. And, when I told her I didn't have money, she told me to go to the bank! lol.

Lulu's magazine page, with the castle she desperately wants.

We later spent some time at the park Lulu brought her Dora purse along.

While she was climbing the playground I took a peak into her purse, and guess what I found? Her magazine page lol! I had to share this with my parents and luckily for Lulu her Papa said he would get her the princess castle!
