Mommy and Me Ballet

My daughter and I are taking a ballet class together and it is so much fun! The teacher is very nice and patient. Which, are important qualities to have when you are trying to get the attention of a two year old. lol

Lulu is definitely learning little by little. There are times when she starts running around the room, in the middle of stretches and a classmate will follow her or vice versa. And, there are times I think she is not paying attention, but to my surprise I catch her practicing at home.  The mommy and me class is offered by our local parks and recreation center and I am truly grateful for it. I really love taking Lulu and she gets excited when I tell her we are going to class.

We will definitely continue attending ballet!

Our First Visit to the LA Zoo

Recently, we paid a visit to the Los Angeles Zoo for the first time.  I new Lulu would have a blast at the LA Zoo!  Lulu absolutely loves seeing all the animals and running around.  We managed to get 50% off  our tickets with our SB Zoo pass which was awesome! Our zoo membership has really paid for itself and I highly recommend becoming a member at your nearest zoo!

The zoo had a large petting zoo with goats and sheep.  Lulu loved petting the sheep it was so adorable!

One can definitely get a workout walking around the LA Zoo. I wore my TOMS suede booties and my feet felt great! I also wore my zebra print dress by H&M, it is officially my zoo dress.  That's me above taking a pic with my fellow zebras!

Jumping in Puddles

We had another rainy day in SB! Lulu had to stay inside to play while it poured but once the rain stopped we put on our rain boots and rain coats to jump in some puddles.

Lulu is wearing a rain coat and boots by Stephen Joseph.

My Gym is Awesome!

My little Lulu attends a My Gym class once a week and absolutely loves it!
The teachers at My Gym are very peppy and fun, and have a lot of patience for toddlers. Lulu and her classmates learn songs, play games and dance.  The kids are constantly practicing their motor skills throughout the duration of a class.  My Gym has all kinds of climbing areas to play on and explore, a trampoline and a ball pit.  The teachers also teach gymnastics and build creative play areas, like a kiddie car wash, a tent filled with puppets and obstacle courses. On cold and rainy days My Gym is my go to place for sure! Lulu can get all her energy out when attending a class and meet up with her friends, instead of staying indoors.

My top picks for Prabal Gurung for Target!

YAY! the Lookbook is out! And I can't stop looking through it!  The line arrives in Target Stores February 10th.  I can't wait to try everything on! Here are my top picks!

I am a total bargain shopper.  So, when Target comes out with their lines from guest designers I get super excited!  I have a strategy too, usually I only allow myself to by two items. And then when pieces start to go on sale I search through the sale rack in hopes for a great piece that I missed out on!
Below is the link to view the lookbook:

Finding a Daycare/Preschool

I started my search for a daycare or preschool for Lulu.  I think she would really enjoy daycare/preschool. Lulu wants to be engaged in multiple activities throughout the day and she loves playing with other kids. I would love to find a school or daycare that has many options for my Lulu, like music, dance, art and preparation for kindergarten.  She is so young, almost two and a half, but I know she would love and thrive in a structured environment. Where she can learn, explore and be creative with her peers and without mommy (for a couple hours).

I am a little nervous for Lulu to go to preschool/daycare and the over protective mommy in me is very picky! Especially when it comes to home daycare centers.  I guess because Lulu would be in someones personal space. Someone that I barely know, it seems a little odd to me.  I went to visit a home daycare and I didn't feel at home at all.  The house was a little too dark for my liking. The provider was very nice and seemed experienced and the children seemed to be right at home, but it was not welcoming to me.

My dear cousin who is a daycare provider and an excellent one at that. (Seriously her photos on FB of her daycare events are so creative she should start her own blog!) Well she gave me a few tips when looking into a daycare. And I will share them with you.

1. Get the license number

2. Ask for an updated licensing report. (They should have one on hand, if not you can get it online from the city).

3. Ask to see an updated CPR card.  (Cards are usually good for two years)

4.  Ask if they attend classes or workshops throughout the year. (This will show that they have interest in their position).

5. Ask to see a schedule of daily activities.

6. Visit the school and go back unannounced. (Before making a decision).

Goodbye Christmas Tree!

We had our first Christmas tree this year and we were very excited to find it and start decorating.  My husband and I had one rule when looking for a tree, it had to be no higher than my husbands shoulder. A medium size tree was important, since it had to fit in our car and apartment.  We were pretty satisfied with our medium size tree and will probably get one the same height next year.  We decorated the tree with ornaments from world market, that were made out of felt. I made a couple ornaments out of felt and also a felt star for the top of the tree.  It was important to me to have ornaments that were not breakable. Since we have limited space for storage and a toddler running around.  I thought it would be safer to have felt and plastic. Now its time to take down the tree! And, I am looking forward to Valentines day!!! Holidays with my Lu and my Honey are so much fun!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am so ready for the New Year! Last year, we made great memories and were faced with many challenges.  We said good bye to loved ones who will always be dear to us and welcomed new babies and friends into our lives.  I am so grateful for all that I have and I plan to treat 2013 as a great gift and make it as memorable as possible.  Last year my resolution was to take one day at a time and to live in the moment.  I tend to get a little paranoid and worry about the future to much. I wanted to make an effort to slow down and enjoy my baby girl to the fullest.  Especially, since my baby has grown into a toddler and is a walking, talking, dancing and singing girl now!
I did a pretty good job with fulfilling my resolution for 2012.  I did some worrying, but I definitely slowed down and had many fun times with my little Lu.
2013 is going to be focused on my interests of Art and Fashion.
I have to make my passions a priority. Lu is ready for preschool now and is no longer a baby that wants to be held by her Mommy Feliz all day. Now is the time for me to get back into the swing of things.  I am excited for the new year! I hope to have many creative finds and creations of my own to share. :)

We started off the New Year right, with a yummy breakfast from Summerland Beach Cafe.
