LA Architecture

Recently we went strolling around Downtown LA and admired the Architecture.
There are so many beautiful buildings downtown I get so excited when I see them.  They always make me think of a 1930's Los Angeles and what a totally glamorous environment it must have been.

This is an old theater that is surrounded by jewelry stores and bridal/quinceanera shops (aka Princess dresses according to Lulu).

Los Angeles times building.

Los Angeles City Hall

This apartment building reminds me of a building I've seen in San Francisco.

Afternoon Chalk Drawings

 Lulu's Ladybug

Mommy's Monarch and Caterpillar

I truly love my time with my daughter.  A perfect afternoon is having some fun at the beach or park with my loves.  Like I wrote in an old post Lucia loves chalk we keep a box in the car just in case we have some inspiration for art work.

Happy New Year!!

I am very excited about the New Year and want to start it off with a positive attitude.  In a past post I wrote about finding my dream job and I was lucky enough to find a job that I really love!
I have been working at a high end consignment store for the past couple months.  It is very exciting to work there because I get to see great fashion pieces daily. Its really unbelievable the great items we get in.  Working at the store has made me realize how much I love retail, and how I would like to open a store of my own.  I would love to have my own children's store that would some how incorporate promoting the arts.
So, I guess my new years resolution would be to create some sort of business plan for a future store of my own.
The rest of my new years resolution would be to have as much fun as possible with my honey and Lulu.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Projects for Mommy Feliz - Starting the new year with some color!!

Lulu went to her grandparents for Christmas break, so daddy and I decided to add some color to the apartment. We started with the bathroom and then our bedroom. I absolutely love it! We only painted an accent wall in each room but it made such a huge difference. Lulu will be so surprised when she comes back!

Projects for my Preschooler

Lu making pumpkin bread: She loves baking and being moms helper.

Lulu's car, made out of a box from Costco:  Lulu had fun gluing construction paper, coloring and stamping her car. She later took her stuffed animals for a ride.

Lulu's ginger bread house: Lulu saw a picture of a ginger bread house in a magazine and asked to make one.  I bought a kit at World Market for under $10, it was worth it.  We worked on the house for about and hour or two. I was surprised how long I had her attention.  Then again when it comes to candy shes always alert. lol

My Lulu is a busy little bee! I have been trying to create a project for her when we have down time.  I want her to be involved in something constructive and avoid watching cartoons as much as possible, when we are hanging out at the house.  I also want to minimize the amount of messes we make in the house.  Having a designated project has helped make the clean up so much easier.  So far its been a huge success and I'm enjoying the time we spend together. Daddy even helps out with our projects it so much fun!

Stanley Kubrick at the LACMA

I made a trip to the LACMA to view the Stanley Kubrick exhibit.  It was a great exhibit to see. I wasn't familiar with him as director, but when I entered the exhibit I realized he was the creator of some really great films.

The exhibit consisted of short clips from his films, props, costumes and scripts.  It was great to see the process he went through to create his films and the timelines he created. I remember seeing a four month timeline for one film.  That was so incredible to me his films are so detailed to create one in four months is impressive.

I can't wait to take another trip to the LACMA!
